The day aims to raise awareness about the difficulties faced by the homeless and to promote actions and policies that help combat poverty and social exclusion. The main reasons for this include: Lack of affordable housing; Economic problems, such as unemployment; Mental health issues and drug addiction. On this day, several initiatives are carried out, such as: Awareness campaigns by NGOs and community groups; Distribution of food, clothing and hygiene products; Forums and panels to discuss solutions and policies.
